Tropical Barbecue Sauce


Perfect for barbecue chicken sandwiches with pineapple and veggies–this Tropical Barbecue Sauce will be a hit at your next cookout. 

Tropical Barbecue Sauce

  1. 3 green onions, roughly chopped
  2. 1 jalapeño, seeded and roughly chopped
  3. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  4. 1 tablespoon chopped fresh ginger
  5. 2½ cups ketchup
  6. ½ cup mango juice
  7. ½ cup pineapple juice
  8. ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  9. ¼ cup molasses
  10. 1 teaspoon salt
  11. 1 teaspoon powdered mustard
  12. ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  1. In the work bowl of a food processor, pulse together green onion and next 3 ingredients until finely chopped.
  2. In a medium saucepan, whisk together green onion mixture and all remaining ingredients, and cook over medium heat, whisking occasionally, for 10 minutes. Let cool completely; refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
