Smoky Honey Barbecue Sauce

Makes 2 Cups
Ingredients
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup distilled white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
- 2 teaspoons ketchup
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon water
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, whisk together oil and next 11 ingredients, and cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low.
- In a small bowl, whisk together egg yolk, cornstarch, and 1 teaspoon water. Whisk egg mixture into oil mixture, and cook, whisking constantly, for 10 minutes. Let cool completely; refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 month.
