Southerners love their patios and porches, and Savannah is one of the best places in the South to see these graceful, inviting spaces. Whether you’re walking the historic squares of the city or exploring the more traditional neighborhoods, there is no shortage of beautifully constructed and decorated porches that adorn all sides and levels of homes.

Paula, as well as most Savannahians, embraces these outdoor spaces as year-round entertaining spots for every occasion, from morning coffee to an impromptu lunch with friends to an early-evening cocktail party. Here are some of Paula’s favorite dishes that easily find their way outside when she is hosting her family and friends.

Setting the Scene
No matter the size of your patio or porch, it’s nice to separate the food and drinks into a few areas so folks aren’t crowded in one spot. Set up your tea or punch with one or two foods on one side of the space and the rest of the food on the other. That leaves the area in the middle for seating and mingling.
