Orange Sherbet

Makes 8 to 10 servings
Ingredients
- 3 cups orange juice
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups whole milk
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- Garnish: sliced almonds
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine orange juice, sugar, lemon juice, orange zest, and vanilla; stir until sugar dissolves. Stir in milk and cream. Cover and chill for 4 hours.
- Pour mixture into container of an electric ice cream freezer, and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions. If a firmer texture is desired, transfer sherbet to an airtight container, and freeze for 2 hours or until firm. Garnish with almonds, if desired.
