These classic Boiled Peanuts are a treat perfect for sharing with a friend.
Makes 10 servings
- 1 (24-ounce) package raw peanuts
- ½ cup kosher salt
- In a large Dutch oven, add peanuts and water to cover. Cover and let stand for at least 12 hours or up to 24 hours. Drain.
- In Dutch oven, bring peanuts, salt, and fresh water to cover to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and cook, stirring occasionally, until peanuts are tender, about 5 hours, adding water as necessary to keep peanuts covered. Drain before serving.
