Easy Ham and Cheese Strata
Ingredients
  1. 9 large eggs
  2. 2 3/4 cups whole milk
  3. 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  6. 12 slices white sandwich bread, divided
  7. 11/2 cups diced Black Forest deli ham (about 1 pound), divided
  8. 11/2 cups shredded Gruyère cheese, divided
  9. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided
  10. 1/2 cup minced green onion, divided
Instructions
  1. Lightly spray a 3-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place 6 slices bread evenly in bottom of prepared baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with 3/4 cup ham. Top evenly with 3/4 cup Gruyère cheese. Top evenly with 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle evenly with 1/4 cup green onion. Pour half of egg mixture over layers. Repeat layers, beginning with bread and ending with green onion. Pour remaining egg mixture over layers. Cover, and refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
  4. Preheat oven to 350˚.
  5. Remove strata from refrigerator, and let stand for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, covering with aluminum foil to prevent excess browning, if necessary. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
