Orange Sherbet

Orange Sherbet
  1. 3 cups Florida’s Natural orange juice
  2. 1 1/2 cups sugar
  3. 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  4. 1 tablespoon orange zest
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 3 cups whole milk
  7. 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  8. Garnish: sliced almonds
  1. In a large bowl, combine orange juice, sugar, lemon juice, zest, and vanilla; stir until sugar dissolves. Stir in milk and cream. Cover, and chill for 4 hours.
  2. Pour mixture into freezer container of a 1-gallon electric ice-cream maker, and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions. If a firmer texture is desired, transfer sherbet to an airtight container, and freeze for 2 hours, or until firm. Garnish with sliced almonds, if desired.
